Amidst us at Cachar centre there is a baby warrior, Ajita Rani Das, who was diagnosed with Bilateral Retinoblastoma. A very rare form of genetic cancer of the eyes, Ajita was only three months old at that time. Her parents brought her to Cachar Cancer Hospital in the hope that she wouldvreceive medical aid and more importantly unconditional support.
Ajita went through chemotherapy. However her left eye had to be surgically removed due to complete loss of vision. She subsequently received radiotherapy and have recovered well. We celebrated her first birthday, planned & sponsored by her oncologist. We are confident of celebrating many more birthdays with our little warrior princess.
