  • Ensure the proper functioning of all nuclear medicine equipment and carry out periodic calibrations, quality assurance checks, and maintenance.
  • Verify radiopharmaceutical quality requirements, the route of administration, and the accuracy of dosage before administering it to a patient and take precautions to prevent misadministration.
  • Prevent spillage of radioactivity or contamination of the patient, premises, persons, and materials during the dispensing and administration of radioactivity.
  • Report any mishap in dispensing/administration of dosage to the patient or any unusual incident to the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and the nuclear medicine physician.
  • Assist the RSO in maintaining records of sources and radioactive waste.
