Detect Early. Prevent Better. Live Healthier.
We believe that prevention and early detection are key to the fight against cancer. Our Department of Preventive Oncology, established in 2018, has been instrumental in delivering cancer awareness, screening, and preventive care to communities across Assam.
Our Journey
Before 2018, our hospital conducted cancer awareness and outreach programs with the support of local NGOs. The need for structured preventive oncology led to the organic formation of the department, starting with a pilot study in one health block of Cachar. A small but dedicated team of nine nurses, one medical officer, and a data collector, working alongside ASHAs, laid the foundation for a sustainable cancer screening initiative.
Our Impact
Over the years, our department has expanded from 11 to 25
members and broadened its reach across four districts in Assam, ensuring accessibility to cancer screening and preventive healthcare.
